Emma Plitzner was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2000. She received her BFA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2022. Plitzner’s work has been featured in the Wisconsin Union Illumination: Undergraduate Journal as well as displayed in the George L. Mosse Humanities gallery. Emma is inspired by the illustrated books of her childhood and the graphic novels that she collects in adulthood. In preparation to drawing, Emma envisions what would have been appealing to her as a child and where that intersects with her creative interests as an adult. Outside of illustration, Emma enjoys painting and reading to stay entuned to her imagination. Additionally, Emma enjoys both playing videogames, and experimenting with creating ones of her own. Emma Plitzner currently lives and works in Brookfield, WI.
